            The Summer of Solutions is founded on a trust in people power; that we will solve our most fundamental social, economic, and environmental problems by creatively integrating resources, ideas, and energy from many different people and places. Traditionally, the framework for dealing with climate change has been based on a sense of fearful urgency, and has connected to only a fraction of those who could lead. The Summer of Solutions aims to help break through these limits and engage everybody in efforts to create a Climate Positive1 society.

1Definition: Climate Positive adj.

(1) Net global greenhouse gas emissions levels from human activities that are below the level of emissions that are absorbed and sequestered by natural greenhouse gas sinks; at this level, global atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases will decrease annually.
(Usage: The world can be climate positive within our lifetimes!)

(2) A mind-set that engages pro-actively and eagerly in the opportunities inherent in solving the climate crisis and building a new, sustainable, just, and prosperous, post-carbon society.
(Usage: We are forming a new, climate positive movement!)
